[DDN] Inspiring Leaders in our Midst

Dear Friends,

I haven't posted to this list in a while, since lately I have been less
involved in Community Technology Centers. However, I have been working on a
project that may be of interest to you, so I'm announcing it here. It may be
of value to you personally, and equally important, it can provide a way to
discover, recognize, and develop people who are recognized as leaders in the
community.

I'm writing to tell you about the Inspiration Project. In a nutshell, I'd
describe the project like this: You can think of it as 'Pay it Forward'
meets 'Six Degrees of Separation' or 'Six Degrees of Inspiration'. It's a
living history of how everyday actions by everyday people can wind up
changing peoples' lives and transforming the world.

It's a social networking web site, focused on relationships and stories
where one person has helped to inspire the other. . Each person can create
their own network of valued connections, and when you put them all together
you get the Roots of Inspiration Network. That's what I'm trying to build.

Right now the site is just getting going, and most of the stories are of a
personal nature. However, I think there is some potential there for broader
use -- in developing and promoting communication, encouraging activists, and
developing leaders.

out your own invitations or stories.
